Forest age estimation in Yellowstone National Park:

Central Plateau, Yellowstone National Park: Image of forest age created from July 1991 Landsat Thematic Mapper data by regression analysis. Purple areas are regenerating from the 1998 fires that affected nearly half the park; red and orange areas indicate old-growth lodgepole pine forest. See Price and Jakubauskas, 1998 for more information.
