ASTER, EO-1, MODIS, Landsat MSS, TM, and ETM+ satellite imagery.
The user can select various map layers to overlay on the imagery
including political boundaries, roads, water features, and cities.

An online, interactive source of information on land remote sensing
and other Earth surface data. Access to the National Satellite Land
Remote Sensing Data archive, including all of the Landsat missions,
NOAA AVHRR, and incoming data from MODIS and ASTER as part of NASA's
ongoing Terra mission.

Description:

photographs data through redirection to Earth Explorer (see below).
Plans to include AVHRR, ASTER, and MODIS data. PDF and ARC shapefiles

Description:
The USGS node of the National Geospatial Data Clearinghouse provides
a pathway to find information about geospatial or spatially referenced
data available from USGS, including: biological resources, water
resources, geologic information, remotely sensed data, and National
Mapping Program information. Formats:
The information is in the form of metadata. Metadata, or "data about
the data", describe the content, quality, condition, and other characteristics
of data. Data available include DEMs, DLGs, raster data…
Access: Search for USGS (and
other organizations) geospatial data holdings by keyword or area
of interest. |
Description:
Access to easy-to-use, digital map-like views of America's natural
and socio-cultural landscapes, particularly the environmental, resource,
demographic, economic, social, political, and historical dimensions
of American life. The Atlas is a 1997 update of a large bound collection
of paper maps that was published in 1970. Formats:
Map layers are available in Shapefile (.shp) format and in the Topological
Vector Profile (.tvp) of the Spatial Data Transfer Standard. Image
files are available in the tagged image file format (TIFF). Data
tables are distributed in the DBF format. Data
Access: All map layers can be downloaded at no cost using
file transfer protocol, but some are available for a small fee (less
than $10) on CD-ROM. |
