NASA National Aeronautics & Space
Administration - NASA
Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs)
Description: This page serves as a gateway to the 8 individual DAACs. DAACs provide access to the data from NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS). Each of the DAACs manage a different kind of scientific data - atmospheric, oceanic, solid-earth, polar, biospheric - and serves a unique blend of user communities.
Data Access: Users interact directly with each DAAC. Some DAACs have searchable databases with links to tabular data, descriptions of image data, and more.
Fees: Some data is freely downloadable, while other data is available only on request. Some datasets and images are only available for a fee.

Global Change Master Directory (GCMD)
Description: GCMD is a comprehensive directory of data sets relevant to global change research. The GCMD database includes descriptions of data sets covering climate change, the biosphere, hydrosphere and oceans, geology, geography, and human dimensions of global change.
Data Access: The public may freely search the GCMD database for records providing information on the nature of the data (e.g., parameters measured, geographic location, time range) and where the data are stored.
Fees: Use of the GCMD is entirely free of charge.
