The pictures in this collection span various years from the late 1950's to the late 1980's. Photo dates from the 1990's, and all current photography sets are archived at county FSA offices.

      In the 1950's, the US Forest Service acquired these photos during their statewide forest inventory. The photo collection was later donated to KARS for archiving.

      The photos from later years were acquired by the USGS as part of the national NHAP and NAAP programs.

     35-mm Slide Collection

      KARS' 35-mm color slide collection ranges from the late 1980's to early 1990's.

      The slides were taken by the Farm Service Agency as part of their ongoing compliance monitoring program for farms enrolled in various agricultural subsidy programs.

      The compliance photography is typically acquired twice a year, once in early spring and again later in the fall.
