Jude Kastens is a Research Assistant working on a Ph.D. in mathematics. He received an M.A. in mathematics in the summer of 1999, focusing on numerical analysis and signal processing. He received a B.A. in mathematics and a B.S.E. in secondary education from the University of Kansas in 1996. He currently works for the KARS program as a numerical analyst and software designer, and has much experience working with MATLAB and Visual C++. The focus of Jude's work at KARS revolves around Fourier analysis and other forms of spectral analysis. While finishing his undergraduate degrees, Jude acquired 18 months of experience working on geographic information systems, with responsibilities ranging from digitizing to project coordination. He also has over 12 years experience working on the Kastens family farm in Rawlins County in northwest Kansas.
